Groundswell NZ farm protest today – times and meeting points

Groundswell NZ protest news

The ‘We’re Not Going to Take It’ protest in support of farmers and rural communities takes place in various places around the country.

Full list of meeting point locations and times can be found here.

The protest is in response to the Government’s document released 11th October proposing to tax farmers for emissions on food production.

In a statement released on their website, Groundswell NZ outlined the reasons why they call for the immediate cessation of the government’s Farm Emissions Tax.

‘We want no emissions tax on food production.

The government must stop proposed emissions tax, and undo legislation putting agriculture into the ETS.

We are already the most sustainable food producers in the world, as verified by independent research.

Groundswell NZ protest news

This emissions tax on food production will lead to food scarcity, higher food prices, and more land going into pine trees. This will lead to poor outcomes for rural communities and rural businesses – the Government acknowledge this in their document.

Groundswell NZ supports a focus on reducing farm emissions through integrated environmental actions on farm. This emissions tax won’t improve environmental outcomes, in fact it will increase global emissions, which the Government also acknowledge in their own document; because food production will be picked up by other countries with less sustainable farming practices.

This tax also breaches the Paris Agreement, where New Zealand committed to emissions reductions, which states that emissions reductions should be pursued “in a manner that does not threaten food production”.

  1. What a ridiculous policy suggestion…the pm is has gone mad, mad I say. For goodness sake leave the farm animals alone and let them do what nature permits them to do. This is a crazy world with senile ideas. The world is indeed being decimated slowly but it has nothing to do with the climate change. Get a life

  2. The same thing is happening in Holland. Two small countries but very efficient producers of high quality food. The emissions here are negligible and farmers only produce half of the emissions so it beggars belief to want to tax them but we need to remember, Ardern does what Schwab tells her to do and the other 119 politicians just provide the chorus.
Do we have a representative government or not? If we do, they govern us with our consent. Ardern is operating on the consent which was given in 2020 (not by me) where Labour won (we are told) but I am of the opinion she did not tell the truth – about anything. So she was elected under false pretences. Has she broken the Social Contract? If so, is that not grounds for a snap election to be called?

    • Yes and what kind of politicians get to the house of representatives and then don’t represent the people or even talk or listen to them?

Get rid of the lot I say!

I am voting Democracy NZ. We also need a complete clean out of public servants, especially the ones earning the big $$

  3. Same awful behaviour from our so called public servants (there’s a bad joke in itself) as those in the Nederlands, kowtowing to the WEF and its ilk.. Anyone thinking this isn’t a globalist policy, that originate’s outside New Zealand, is truly fooling themselves.STOP voting for party’s that put foreign agenda’s, above those of New Zealanders and New Zealand.

    • One can look at things from many angles, point out specific developments, discuss various themes, like wars, carbon measures, energy crises, left vs right, legislature, currency woes, corruption, demise of education, confusion of minds, the lying media and on and on and on.
But there is one central core subject that is hardly ever mentioned or discussed. It’s the elephant in the room that hardly anybody is willing to touch. It is sensitive, because the world has learned to not touch that elephant. And that elephant, responsible for the biggest scam ever perpetrated on humanity, has constructed the Central Banking system/scam, enslaving the people of this planet since 250 years. With fractional reserve banking and compound interest, one dynasty and their accomplices have managed to use the world as their farm, sucking all wealth into their grip. It is an inter-generational cabal/clique/club/cartel, who calls ALL the shots and who subsequently owns the world (Vanguard/Blackrock et alt.). It is the vampire squid, people like Matt Taibbi (The Great American Bubble Machine: https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/the-great-american-bubble-machine-195229/ ) and G. Edward Griffin (The Creature from Jekyll Island: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lu_VqX6J93k ) try diplomatically to explain. But what even they cannot openly talk about is, what makes one into a pariah, where one gets censored, canceled, cornered. Some aspects of research or discussion might even land you in jail in many Western countries. You know you are over target, when you get flak.
And for this cartel, the above mentioned themes are mere TOOLS to further their agenda, war being the most lucrative. The themes keep the herd between struggle and vain entertainment. The cartel is the “Synagogue of Satan”, written about by Andrew Carrington and put into a video here: https://archive.org/details/TheSynagogueOfSatanDocumentaryBasedOnAndrewCarringtonHitchcocksBook
The video is long but A MUST TO WATCH (or extract the audio and listen to it while stuck in traffic). Brave through it. (Here is a condensed version as an interview with the author: https://archive.org/details/AndrewCarringtonHitchcockTexeMarrsTheSynagogueOfSatan
I wish one could interview Carroll Quigley (Tragedy and Hope) or Dr John Coleman (Committee of 300 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sc1NxfmtOTc )

  4. I fully support groundswell and any and all protests that challenge government overreach. I suspect however, that without the support of MSM that in yesteryear would’ve been all over this, these important issues won’t get the coverage they need. As a result the necessary pressure won’t be put on to the government and they will continue as planned. NZ herald and Stuff selling their souls to the devil has been the worst thing to happen to NZ citizens in my memory. As long as the government controls them they control the narrative and can continue to hide what is happening in plain sight. We need to return to the days of balanced media or we will continue to be manipulated until it is too late.
