Public tip leads to arrests after aggravated robbery in Mt. Roskill

A vigilant member of the public played a crucial role in the swift apprehension of three individuals following an aggravated robbery on Hillsborough Road, Mt. Roskill.

Around 9 PM, police were alerted to masked suspects entering a commercial premises armed with weapons, where they allegedly assaulted the sole attendant and stole alcohol, cigarettes, and cash before fleeing.

Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Allan of Auckland City CIB credited the public tip, which included vehicle registration details, for enabling police to track down and arrest the suspects.

The victim sustained minor injuries and is receiving support, while weapons and some stolen items were recovered.

Two 21-year-olds are set to appear in Auckland District Court, and a 16-year-old will reappear in Youth Court in January.
