Fake News: BBC ‘misrepresented’ COVID risk to drive lockdown agenda – expert

BBC fake news

Professor Mark Woolhouse, a prominent epidemiologist and advisor to the UK government during the COVID-19 pandemic, criticised the BBC for misrepresenting the risk of COVID-19 to the general public.

He accused the UK State broadcaster of reporting rare cases of death or illness among healthy adults as if they were common occurrences, creating a misleading impression that everyone was equally at risk from the virus. He said the risk of dying from COVID-19 in reality was significantly low, especially in younger people.

Woolhouse presented his concerns at the UK Covid Inquiry, where he suggested that the BBC’s reporting style was not corrected because it served as a justification for imposing lockdowns on the entire population. He referenced a briefing by a sub-group of the UK Government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage), which suggested that increasing the perceived level of personal threat among the public might be necessary to combat complacency.

He argued that this misperception hindered the effectiveness of interventions by failing to target them towards the vulnerable groups who were at the highest risk. Woolhouse also expressed concerns that the Scottish Government’s pandemic response was compromised as a result of this misleading coverage.

Woolhouse, a professor of infectious disease epidemiology at the University of Edinburgh and an advisor to the Scottish Government, mentioned that his advice was often ignored by Nicola Sturgeon, the First Minister of Scotland. He was also a member of the Scientific Pandemic Influenza Group on Modelling, a sub-group of Sage.

Scottish health authorities admit ‘COVID hospitalisation’ stats were over-estimated

Woolhouse’s testimony came in the same week Scottish officials admitted under oath in the inquiry they had over-estimated COVID hospitalisation statistics by ‘as much as 24%.’

  1. Not only the BBC. We, in europe got morning midday and evening a ” counting of the dead” every day. On every european TV channel.
To scare the population. It was so exagerated that i decided ” to wait and see” as i am old and live alone.
But the majority of the population was forced into taking the poison shot.
So many dead is so much money not to be paid on pensions etc.

  2. Ah yes, the BBC concocted the ‘Trusted News Initiative’ to peddle covid propaganda and disinformation in lockstep with all the other corrupt MSM ‘news’ channels.

Sadly, the BBC are rotten to the core.

  3. Starting to make a lot more sense why legacy media are always exempt from all those new MISINFORMATION laws they keep trying to draft…

Social engineering and government directives, disguised as news.

    • Exactly. That is called ” propaganda”.
It appears always in troubled times together with ” censure”, ” index” and those phenomenons wanting to distort reality. Such as saying that a male is a female for example.
Or that cow’ s farts are dangerous for the climate anx i could go on and on…

  4. WE WANT CONSEQUENCES for this MSM scum!!!
Either legally or through public ‘intervention’.
They ruined millions of lifes with their agit-prop BS.
I want to see PROSECUTION, either by Courts or even better by public tribunals.
If not, one or the other vax injured might take justice into their own hands.

  5. Does any one take the BBC or for that matter MSM broadcasters in NZ seriously, even those pretending to be non mainstream, whilst still flouting mainstream credentials and opinions….?
