Multiple complaints have been lodged with Parliament’s Speaker following a fiery exchange involving Green MP Julie Anne Genter during a recent parliament House session.
Genter found herself in hot water after brandishing a book at National MP Matt Doocey in an intimidating manner and raising her voice during a debate on roading projects on Wednesday.
Genter has since issued an apology for her actions. Gerry Brownlee has set a deadline for Genter to address the complaints before determining whether to escalate the matter to the Privileges Committee.
While working remotely on Thursday, Genter’s absence was confirmed by Green co-leaders Marama Davidson and Chlöe Swarbrick. Davidson told media there was an ongoing disciplinary process within the party.
Questions were raised regarding Genter’s past behaviour, including an incident where she attempted to terminate an interview with 1News on roadside drug testing. Swarbrick clarified that this previous incident had been addressed internally but said Genter’s recent outburst was beyond acceptable boundaries.
‘But again, what occurred last night is completely unacceptable, completely inexcusable and there is an internal disciplinary process that we’ll be following. We also will be participating in all of the processes of the House to ensure that order is restored,’ said Swarbrick.
Co-leader Marama Davidson said the party would try to facilitate a face-to-face apology between Genter and Doocey, if possible. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon said the incident was ‘quite unbelievable’.
Doocey opted not to comment on the matter as he entered the House on Thursday afternoon.
I know two people who have worked for/under Julie Anne Genter who received the same bad treatment daily. She is this abusive, stand over person. Green staffers and volunteers, more than any other party, are devotees who will put up with anything for the cause. JAG abuses this.

California Left-Wing Greenie behaviours in action!
…NO place for it here in New Zealand!
These types of behaviours is why the U.S. had decayed politically and socially. Have a look at ANTIFA, BLM and the criminals who have their charges dismissed, and return to the streets to cause and foment more Zionist-based Talmudic Bolshevism!
Green is the NEW Red…especially where environMENTAL issues are concerned!
And…the General (S)Election in the U.S. is 190 days out still.
This is what a Lefty / Greenie mindset produces; entitlement, pushy agendas, and ill-tolerance for debate.
It’s even worse if one of these creatures are vaccinated, as the prions begin to alter the brain chemistry.
“It’s even worse if one of these creatures are vaccinated, as the prions begin to alter the brain chemistry.” – exactly. It crossed my mind after seeing her irrational behavior – any record of this with her prior to the jab roll-out ?
Doocey should’ve decked her. For being in the greens I mean, not for the intimidation attempt.
Crazy hag wanted to get meat banned from flights.
Go back to woke America.
Typical libtard
Another ‘progressive’ who turns out to be a repressed violent muppet
JAG a showing her true colours. Go back to where you came from and fix that place you silly hypocritical bint. You and your bat Sh1t crazy ideas aren’t welcome here.
Another phoney. Get on ya bike Genter!
I have a number of comments.
1. Why are the police not involved?
2. These acts of violence against men should come under the crimes act and not the privileges committee.
3. The penalty should be conviction and loss of employment as an MP.
4. The punishment should be attended a violence program to make personal compensation to the victim of the attack.
5. NZ can’t have violent people making legislation.
6. The victim is entitled to feel safe at his place of work.
1. Because we hate men
2. Because we hate men.
3. Because we hate men.
4. Because we hate men.
5. Because we hate men.
6. Because we hate men.
1. If men want the potential to lose their home and possessions in 3 years or less, let a woman live with you.
2. If men want the potential to lose their children or be thrown out on the streets, have children.
3. If men want the potential to lose their future earnings and pay for children that are not even yours, let a woman with children, move in.
4. If men want to have casual sex and then move on, prepare to defend a false complaint, be named in the media and pay $50k to defend it.
5. If men want the potential to lose their employment and become unemployable, agree to a relationship with a female workmate.
6. None of the above is allowed on main stream media. Firstly because it is fact. Secondly, they don’t want young men to know.
