Wellington florist accuses Julie Anne Genter of intimidation in cycleway dispute

Julie Anne Genter news

A new accusation of intimidation has emerged against Green MP Julie Anne Genter, this time involving a heated altercation with a Wellington florist.

The latest incident follows a recent disciplinary process initiated by the Green Party over a confrontation in Parliament with Matt Doocey, resulting in multiple complaints.

In a press conference yesterday Green Party co-leader Marama Davidson said in reference to Genter’s behaviour that, ‘this cannot happen again.’

Laura Newcombe, owner of Four Seasons Florist in Wellington, described Genter as ‘a bully’ after an encounter last week over a cycleway installed outside her store, which removed parking spaces.

According to Newshub, Genter visited the florist last week, and a heated exchange ensued regarding Genter’s advocacy for cycleways. Newcombe said she felt intimidated as Genter allegedly recorded her with a phone camera and engaged in yelling and screaming.

‘She was very intimidating. She pulled out her phone, she put the phone camera right in my face and I was like, ‘Okay, you need to leave now’ and then she started yelling and screaming over me that I didn’t care about her kids cycling,’ she told Newshub.

‘I think that she should just be suspended because even if she says sorry, she’s not sorry because this is how she conducts herself. It’s just not acceptable, she doesn’t deserve to be in Parliament.’

Green Party co-leader Chloe Swarbrick said they were unaware of this incident prior to Thursday and confirmed the party would address it as part of its ongoing disciplinary process.

‘We are going through a disciplinary process which means sitting down with Julie Anne and working through the incident as of last night, and obviously what has been brought to light today,’ said Swarbrick.

  1. Yep yep yep, the greens are not aware of much.
Awareness requires self-reflection, which these entitled commie airheads certainly never had.
BTW: it was billionaire ex-PM John DonKey who came up with his legacy project of nationwide cycle-ways. Of course we producing rate payers have to fund that nice-to-have project. Nobody seems concerned that the contracts go to the ol boys club of well connected businesses, at obscenely inflated costs.
A separate article about wilful irresponsible inflated debt-spending on show projects would be appreciated, highlighting the fact that these non-essential projects serve as work schemes, financed with loans from the international bankster cabal and usurping agencies like Blackrock, for which our children’s children have already cast into serfdom to pay for. Wake up New Zealand!
It would be a long article.

  2. Good ol’ California left wing Zio-Bolshevik ‘Politics via Intimidation’ as per usual, exported to Aotearoa…

  3. Why would anyone vote for the Greens or any of the mainstream party’s?……what do they have to offer, seriously?

  4. I don’t necessarily believe the florist. That location near the corner of Riddiford Street and Adelaide Rd hasn’t had any carparks there for several years. And if you go all the way back to the 1980s and 1990s, there were only 2 or 3 or 4 carparks there which were seldom available so people always parked elsewhere if they really needed anything from the very few shops on that corner. Yet the florist claims her sales have dropped? From when to when? And how is this linked to the loss of carparks ages ago?

I need to ask yet again – where is the genuine investigative journalism? Why are we constantly subjected to bull from all sides? When will the media start reporting the facts? And by the way, I think we’re in a period of global cooling, not warming.

    • That’s a little bit beside the point now, the parking issue, Julie Anne. It’s the stand over tactics, the yelling in someone’s face, and shoving a phone while filming in someone’s face, which is what is going on here, and is what we’re very concerned with. The overall abusive behavior of a politician to a member of the public. It’s crossing a line.

Do we really want our politicians to be crazed and aggressive activists going around the public and abusing people???
It is totally out of controll and should be investigated further and condemned and called out for what it is, an abuse of power. It is definitely unhinged personality traits like this which is totally inappropriate and more crazyness we are constantly seeing from our green members.

Your other climate cooling / climate warming is also totally irrelevant, potatoes potaatoes. I don’t even know what you are trying to say by that.

  5. Oh crikey! Evil narcissistic eco-communists up to their usual nasty unpleasant antics.

    What a surprise

    Not.
