Police are urgently investigating a string of violent aggravated burglaries in Waikato West and are appealing to the public for information to help identify the offenders.
Between October and November, five incidents occurred in the Huntly region, where a group of masked males armed with firearms targeted residential properties.
The burglars reportedly stole various items, including a family’s Christmas presents.
In two separate incidents, an elderly woman and a young child sustained injuries after being struck with a firearm.
Police are urging residents with any information, including sightings of suspicious activity or CCTV footage of individuals wearing balaclavas, to come forward.
