Shibasaki shines as Broncos overpower Dolphins in Battle of Brisbane

Brisbane Broncos’ centre Gehamat Shibasaki delivered a man-of-the-match performance, scoring two tries to lead his team to a 12-20 victory over the Dolphins at Suncorp Stadium, handing the Dolphins a 0-4 start to the season.

Once uncertain of his career, Shibasaki thrived under coach Michael Maguire, earning the coveted “Battle Medal” in front of a sold-out crowd.

Fellow centre Kotoni Staggs also starred with a crucial solo try, while the Dolphins were plagued by errors and missed chances despite a valiant effort from centre Herbie Farnworth.

A controversial call against the Dolphins and a near-sin-bin incident involving Broncos’ Jordan Riki added to the drama, but ultimately Brisbane’s relentless defense and up-tempo play secured the win.
