Marmoush fires Man City back to winning ways against Wolves

Manchester City eased past bottom-placed Wolves at the Etihad Stadium to end a difficult start to 2026, with Omar Marmoush scoring his first Premier League goal of the season in a comfortable victory.

Pep Guardiola rotated his side by resting Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, but City asserted control early against a deep-lying Wolves defence, opening the scoring when Marmoush finished Matheus Nunes’ cross inside 10 minutes.

The hosts doubled their advantage just before half-time through a composed strike from Semenyo after a sharp pass from Bernardo Silva, effectively settling the contest, with City hitting the woodwork again after the break.

Wolves threatened briefly late on but remain rooted near the bottom, having managed just one league win all season.
