An occupation protest to stop the closure of the Marsden Point Oil Refinery is about to get underway.
‘Secure Marsden’ movement organiser Brad Flutey gave an update yesterday via a video on his Telegram channel.
The occupation has three goals:
- Stop the destruction of the refinery
- Regain the refinery
- Evolve the refinery for the future
Preparations are well advanced, and while the day and time of the protest’s start will not be made known to the public in advance, those taking part would need to be ready to start ‘at a moment’s notice.’ Further information can be found on the Secure Marsden website.
With two years of economic turmoil during the COVID crisis, and now the Ukraine crisis (which is already having a severe impact on global energy markets), and tensions in the Asia-Pacific region rising, restoration of the refinery is fundamental to ensure New Zealand is best equipped to maintain security of its energy needs.

‘The people of our Nation paid to construct this oil refinery so that it may guard us against the inflationary effects of geopolitical turmoil. Management is having its oil refining capabilities removed through internal sabotage, leaving us reliant on international supply. The time has come to stop this by occupying the Marsden Point Oil Refinery.’

Went to buy a bottle of Co2 yesterday for my welder. Price increase 45% due to closure of Marsden Point. BOC Gases bottled Co2 as a by product from the plant and had invested around 40 million dollars. They still had 11 years left to pay back their investment, I understand. Now all Co2 has to be imported in specialised containers on ships that produce tonnes of harmful emissions. The tooth fairy and her maniac, socialist, woke i****s must be stopped.
More and more bitumen must be imported too for the upkeep of the roads. It is only a matter of time our roads are full of pot holes as in many parts of UK.
They already are.

These idiots in govt who follow the so called green agenda haven’t got a flipping clue. The oil refinery must stay.
Another big tell is them messing around with Kapuni. They don’t understand the industry or products and processes involved and how this affects New Zealand.
The virtue signalling idiots who call for sanctions to Russia and then moan about food shortages because of fertiliser shortages need to also understand what happens at Kapuni and how we also make fertiliser and the by product anhydrous ammonia and how this gas is used for many applications including refrigeration for cool stores, refrigeration on ships, and how it also turned into aqueous ammonia which is used by our dairy industry and many other industries for cleaning. So, by messing with Kapuni, we shoot ourselves in the foot in so many ways and the only result is that we will be more dependent on imports and the cost of local products and food will soar. Not to mention the increased costs of our dairy exports which will make us less competitive on a market competing with countries who aren’t following the New World Order doctrine. I mean we literally gave away all our dairy technology and genetics to China anyway under the Clark and Key Govts and now this? Economic suicide.
The muppets in charge who have never worked in the real world and who answer to the World Economic Forum are wrecking our country in ways that most could never comprehend until it will be far too late to do anything about it.
May God give us strength and some hope that this intentional destruction is stopped and those responsible for making it happen be made to be accountable for what they are doing. New Zealanders need to WAKE UP.
