Up to 11,000 troops marched on Moscow’s iconic Red Square on Monday as Russia celebrated the 77th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany during World War II. The conflict is largely called the Great Patriotic War in Russia, and May 9 is one of the country’s most revered holidays.
The marching columns represented all branches of Russia’s Armed Forces, including airborne troops, military police, national guardsmen and cadets.
More than 130 armored vehicles were led by the iconic T-34-85 tank, which was one of the main ‘workhorses’ of the Red Army during the war. The state-of-the-art T-90M Proryv (Breakthrough) main battle tanks, S-400 air-defense missile systems, and Yars thermonuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles, were among other top-notch weapons showcased on the Red Square.
Sad to see the loss of 26 million russians in WW2 means nothing, particularly the East Europeans.
Not even a tenth in other countries or ethnicities died. Nazism is coming back in different forms in Europe. Russophobia is deliberately seeded by the mass media and politicians. Big Military Industral Complex is greasing itself for a huge production of weapons. Lend-Lease arranagements are being extended, probably soon to many European countries. War cloud are forming fast due to cloud seeding by US. If European economies fall, the situation will further exasperated. Huge migratiion from middle East and north african countries to EU countries will also follow if food shortages become a reality in the coming year. This will further feed neonazism in Europe. Time for NZ to realise the enormity of what is going on and take a neutral stand. Our leaders seem to push us to side with the neonazism that is gaining momentum.
Good to hear about others too. It’s been a bit one sided up until now.
