Mick Abrahams, a founding member of British rock band Jethro Tull and a key figure in its early sound, has died at the age of 82 after years of declining health.
Lead singer Ian Anderson paid tribute to Abrahams as a powerful and lyrical guitarist whose vocal and instrumental talents were vital to the band’s formative years, including its debut album This Was.
Abrahams, who later went on to form the band Blodwyn Pig and enjoyed a long solo career, had stepped away from performing after suffering a stroke.
