60% of Iceland’s third Delta wave were fully vaccinated

Sixty percent of Iceland’s third COVID-19 wave were fully vaccinated. Despite achieving one of the highest vaccination rates in the world, Iceland was hit with a new wave of COVID-19 cases starting in the third week of July 2021.

According to Iceland’s Directorate of Health (DOH), over the last 2.5 months, 60% of domestic coronavirus infections were fully vaccinated, 38% were unvaccinated, and 2% were partially vaccinated.

Between July 10, 2021 and September 30, 2021, there were 2,940 fully vaccinated, 1,870 unvaccinated, and 105 partially vaccinated coronavirus infections in Iceland.
