Cardi B has been cleared of all allegations in a USD $24 million civil lawsuit brought by security guard Emani Ellis, who claimed the rapper cut her cheek with a fingernail and spat on her outside a Los Angeles obstetrician’s office in 2018.
After a brief deliberation, the jury ruled in Cardi B’s favour, rejecting claims of assault, battery, negligence, and false imprisonment.
The rapper, who was four months pregnant at the time of the incident, denied physical contact and said she only engaged in a heated verbal exchange after Ellis invaded her privacy.
Supporting testimony from the doctor and receptionist indicated Ellis was the aggressor, strengthening Cardi B’s case.
Following the verdict, the rapper declared she would not be intimidated into settling lawsuits and urged fans not to harass Ellis or her family.
