US singer Chris Brown has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent following an alleged assault at a central London nightclub on 19 February 2023, according to the Metropolitan Police.
The 36-year-old was arrested at a Manchester hotel early Thursday morning and remains in custody ahead of a scheduled appearance at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor Adele Kelly confirmed the charge under section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861, noting that criminal proceedings are now active and Brown is entitled to a fair trial.
The Sun reported that the R&B star arrived in Manchester via private jet on Wednesday afternoon. Brown is currently on tour and is expected to perform multiple shows across the UK in June and July.
