Prince Harry and former trustee Mark Dyer have “categorically rejected” what they describe as “offensive and damaging claims” after charity Sentebale filed a libel lawsuit against them in the High Court.
The Prince co-founded the charity in 2006 to support children and young people with HIV/AIDS in Lesotho and Botswana.
A spokesman said it was “extraordinary” that funds were being used to pursue legal action against those who built and supported the organisation, though the charity insists no charitable funds are involved.
Sentebale alleges the pair were behind a coordinated adverse media campaign that caused reputational harm, operational disruption and cyber-bullying directed at its leadership, claims both men deny.
The dispute follows a breakdown in relations that led to Harry’s resignation as patron in March 2025, alongside other trustees, amid governance concerns highlighted by the Charity Commission, which found no evidence of bullying but criticised all parties for allowing the conflict to become public.
