He was Gregory Flavell, 18, of Rotorua who was reported missing kayaking on Lake Rotorua on 10 August.
Gregory’s family would like to publicly acknowledge their appreciation and thanks for the help from NZ Police, Coastguard, Navy, Police Maritime and LandSAR.
Police extend their sympathies to his family and loved ones.
His death has been referred to the Coroner.
