Police can confirm a body has been recovered from Otututu/Rough River, Ikamatua on the West Coast.
The body was found downstream after a tractor was located upturned in the river at about 10.45 this morning.
The body is believed to be the sole occupant of the tractor.
“Police extend their sincere condolences to the deceased’s family at this very difficult time.
“Police ask that members of the public avoid the area while emergency services are at the scene.
“The death will be referred to the Coroner.”
