Dr. Sanjana Hattotuwa has appeared on television and in print legacy media discussing misinformation / disinformation.
Mulitple Twitter users have noticed Hattotuwa has blocked them on the micro-blogging platform – even if they have never had any interaction with his account.
DTNZ is among those he has blocked.
Speculation is growing as to the reason behind the bizarre move, with some internet sleuths believing it to be a test for manipulation of Twitter’s algorithm. Elon Musk released part of the algorithm to the public last week.
Hattotuwa specialises in analysing online discourse. Twitter users recommended blocking him back as a counter measure.
He’s blocked an enormous number of people – the very people that will call him out for his lies and disinformation.
