An electronic version of the Electoral Roll was down temporarily on Election Day 2023.

It is not clear how long the issue persisted or which polling booths were affected, but reports say the problem affected booths in some places of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

A spokesperson for the Electoral Commission told legacy media that, ‘The app is used to look up people who don’t have their EasyVote card or don’t know which electorate they are in.

‘The issue has had no impact on most people’s voting experience, but caused some delays for people casting a special vote at some of our busiest voting places.

‘Separate to this, there have been queues at some voting places today due to high demand, and additional staff have been brought in to support our busiest voting places. Between 11am and 2pm are usually the busiest times to vote on election day.’

The commission confirmed that anyone in line at a voting place at 7pm will be able to vote, and that there was a large turnout today.

  1. Blamed on power outages and the wind warnings???
This will require a second vote count, and affidavits sent to the party you voted for.
That way, the votes and the affidavits should equally match.
If they don’t, then it’s vote fraud mimicking the 2020 El-ection in the U.S..
We saw Trump leading and then the vote counting stopped.
When the vote counting started again, those votes that Trump was leading with was swapped over to Biden.
NZ Loyal Party and NZ First Party need to pay attention!

  2. Lol.

    ““Glitch”” = fraud.

    Every single time.

Congrats to Mr WEF Luxon. Enjoy the rest of the pantomime, people.

  3. Yeah the app was “fixed” all right
