Emails reveal Epstein funding offer to Auckland academic

Auckland professor Brian Boyd says he feels “pretty icky” after discovering his name has appeared in newly released documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein.

Boyd, who is internationally known for his work studying Russian author Vladimir Nabokov, said Epstein once offered to fund a book he wanted to write about the novel Lolita.

Boyd told legacy media he did not know about Epstein’s criminal behaviour at the time and only met him briefly after speaking at a Harvard programme that was later revealed to have received Epstein funding.

The book project never went ahead, with Boyd later receiving research funding from other sources. He said learning about the email exchange years later was unsettling, and looking back now, he believes Epstein showed disturbing personality traits, despite appearing confident and well connected when they first met.

  1. The offer from Jeffrey Epstein to fund Brian Boyd’s book was made — and at least partly discussed by email — in July 2012. In an email Boyd wrote to Epstein dated July 2012, he outlines how long it would take him to write the book and discusses a figure for payment after Epstein proposed funding the project.

Boyd’s correspondence shows that at the time he and Epstein were negotiating how much money would be needed to write a book on Lolita, and Epstein counter-proposed a higher amount ($75,000) than Boyd initially suggested. The project itself never went ahead and Boyd later obtained research funding from other sources.

  2. This is not really worth reporting on compared to the lies alot of people have told about their connections to Epstein. Or, Epsteins connections to most of the people in Trumps admin and his connections.

    The list goes on

What about Epsteins helicopter pilot warning him (like epstein didn’t know) that his choppers registration was tied to dynecorp (intelligence) implicated in arms and child trafficking.

What about prison guards talking about how they made boxes and sheets to look like a fake body, that most of the waiting media followed when it was wheeled out to a white van and driven away, while the real body(who knows if it was a corpse) was then taken away in a black vehicle with no media around.

    • Came here to say this.

I Seriously doubt this “academic’s” claim to have felt icky dealing with Epstein when the subject of their discussions was already paedophilia in the first place.

Keep your children the hell out of NZ’s universities and colleges people.

  3. These seemingly intellectual people didn’t make the connection to Lolita express at the time? Lolita express was flying for Epstein from 2001, years ago. The book itself is a smack in the face red flag. Noticed some disturbing personality traits, still didn’t connect the dots.
