Family Court finds livestream amounted to psychological abuse

A Family Court judge has found that a father’s repeated livestream commentary about his former partner crossed the line into psychological abuse and family violence, highlighting the legal risks of unmoderated social-media “story time” exposés.

After the couple separated, the man began broadcasting several times a week to hundreds of followers, naming his ex-partner and allowing his new partner and regular viewers to make insulting and hostile remarks about her without intervening.

Despite warnings from Netsafe and the woman’s lawyer, the conduct continued, culminating in a temporary protection order and a defended hearing.

According to a report in state-funded media, the judge found the father had created a “dynamic of conflict,” effectively condoned the attacks and should have anticipated that the comments would eventually reach his former partner even though she did not watch the streams herself. His behaviour was found to form a pattern intended to “control, demean and manipulate” the woman, with a further hearing to decide whether the protection order should become final.

  1. Yet psychological abuse can only come from a man according to New Zealand courts.

I like the word final. Can be applied to any argument.

Finally, men are walking away. Not engaging in financial and career ending activities resulting in well below replacement birth rates, separate housing along with infrastructure costs and a shift towards independency.

Whomever created the idea that three years after a relationship breakup is enough to strip men of their property and add ongoing financial responsibility. Usually, because of parental alienation. Surely that must be psychological abuse.

Ignored by the courts, men are now ignoring woman and choose to hire some young a women with the morals of a rabbit.

There’s a new sheriff in town, her name is Pauline Hanson. Another reason for men to exit New Zealand and live safe prosperous fulfilling lives in Australia.
