Police updates on serious and fatal crashes around the country since yesterday.
Name release, fatal crash, Gordonton
Police are now in a position to name the woman that died in a crash in Gordonton, Waikato on Friday 27 May.
She was 21-year-old Coral-Lee Thompson of Ngatea.
Sadly, she died at the scene of the crash near the intersection of Piako Road and Waverley Road.
Police extend their condolences to her family at this difficult time.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
Serious Crash, SH 30, Whakatane
The road is now clear following a serious crash at the intersection of Mill Road and SH 30, Whakatane.
One person has been transported to hospital with serious injuries.
The other people involved have sustained minor injuries.
Police thank motorists for their patience while emergency services attended the scene.
Fatal crash, Riverhead
Police can confirm one person has died after a car crashed into a tree in Riverhead.
Emergency services were called to the crash at the Coastville-Riverhead Highway/Alice Street intersection at around 10:15am.
Sadly, one person was located deceased at the scene.
Cordons are in place.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are underway.
