One person has died following a serious crash between a car and truck near Moerewa overnight.
The crash occurred at 12.14am on State Highway 1.
Police and other emergency services attended the incident but sadly one occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.
The Serious Crash Unit examined the scene at the time, and diversions were put in place but those have since lifted.
An investigation is now underway into the crash.
