A longtime adviser to Dr. Anthony Fauci has been indicted by the U.S. Department of Justice over allegations he concealed records tied to investigations into the origins of COVID-19.
David Morens, 78, who served for years as a senior adviser at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) – the US government’s main medical research agency, faces multiple felony charges including conspiracy against the United States, destruction and falsification of records, concealment of federal documents, and aiding and abetting.
Prosecutors allege Morens worked with two unnamed associates to bypass federal transparency laws, including FOIA and record-keeping requirements.
According to the indictment, Morens used a private Gmail account for official communications between 2006 and 2022 and discussed methods to avoid public disclosure of sensitive emails that point to the cause of the ‘virus’ outbreak being the result of a lab leak rather than a natural phenomenon from bats as promoted by legacy mainstream media and governments.
In one April 2021 message cited by prosecutors, Morens allegedly wrote that there was “no worry about FOIAs” because material could be sent privately to Fauci rather than through official government systems. Other emails referenced learning “how to make emails disappear” before records searches began and deleting messages after forwarding them to Gmail accounts.
Prosecutors also allege Morens admitted he preferred using Gmail because his NIH account was frequently targeted by FOIA requests and said he would “delete anything” he did not want appearing publicly.
Morens was involved in oversight of NIH funding provided to EcoHealth Alliance, which supported bat coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology where the leak is believed to have ocurred.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche described the alleged conduct as a major breach of public trust aimed at suppressing competing theories surrounding COVID-19’s origins.

I had heard of the links between Fauci, NIH, eco-health alliance, Chapel Hill, Wuhan back in first lockdown in early 2020.
Whitney Webb laid it all out back then. Seems the US government FBI and CIA couldn’t be arsed investigating for some reason. Because surely they knew these things.

Daszak has been a vocal proponent of a natural origin of COVID-19. EcoHealth Alliance has worked closely with the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and received millions in government funding to discover and study animal viruses.
Though the public does not have a complete picture of the pre-pandemic work underway, none of the viruses published by EHA or the WIV could have directly sparked the COVID-19 pandemic.
These new revelations add to the evidence of Daszak’s central role in shaping public perceptions about COVID-19’s origins. He secretly organized a statement in the prestigious medical journal The Lancet deeming a lab origin a “conspiracy theory.” He served as the U.S. representative on the 2021 World Health Organization origins investigation in China, which dismissed a lab origin as “extremely unlikely.” He also formerly chaired a Lancet Commission probe into the origins of COVID-19 which was disbanded after Daszak declined to share his grant reports.”
