Convicted real estate businessman Aaron Coupe has abandoned his appeal for permanent name suppression after being sentenced to four years and five months in prison for Companies Act offenses.
Coupe, described by MBIE as a “serial offender,” had previously pleaded guilty to Insolvency Act violations in 2016, resulting in a five-year business ban.
But he continued managing multiple companies, causing millions in financial losses.
His fraudulent projects included a failed luxury hotel development in Auckland and a spa business in Cardrona Valley.
