Minneapolis Catholic school shooter identified

A mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, U.S.A during a morning mass has left at least two children dead and 17 others injured, authorities confirmed today.

The suspected gunman, identified as Robin Westman—also known by the name Robert Westman—opened fire on Wednesday morning before dying from what police believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Law enforcement sources speaking to Fox News revealed that Westman, who used dual names, carried out the attack at the school affiliated with Annunciation Catholic Church.

“This was a targeted incident during a religious service, and the loss of young lives is devastating,” a police spokesperson stated, emphasising the ongoing investigation into the motive.

The shooter was found deceased at the scene, and no further suspects are being sought.

Unverified reports circulating on social media have shed light on Westman’s online presence, painting a picture of a troubled individual with radical ideologies.

According to these accounts Westman maintained a now-deleted YouTube channel featuring videos of firearms, a manifesto written in both Russian and English, and a detailed map of the church.

The content reportedly included a mix of extreme views: support for transgender rights, Communist leanings, pro-Russian sentiments and strong opposition to President Donald Trump, Christianity, Jewish people, and individuals of Indian descent.
