Police are investigating after needles were discovered in two food products at a Woolworth’s supermarket in Papakura, Auckland.
Food Safety deputy director general Vincent Arbuckle confirmed that food safety officers are assisting the investigation to ensure consumer safety.
The affected products have been removed, and investigators say there is currently no evidence of a wider food safety risk. Woolworths has yet to comment on the incident.
