The two people charged by the Serious Fraud Office in the NZ First donations case have been found not guilty in the High Court.
The pair were charged with fraudulently depositing $750,000 into a New Zealand First Foundation account in breach of the Electoral Act.
Justice Jagose found the pair not guilty in a judge-alone trial, and permanently suppressed their names.
Winston Peters took to Twitter in the wake of the ruling claiming the charges were ‘spurious from the beginning’ and perpetuated by the ‘rotten’ media.

Today the High Court confirmed that no crime had been committed and NZF has again been cleared of all charges.
