New Zealand Doctors Speaking Out with Science (NZDSOS) is urging voters to confront political candidates over unresolved questions surrounding the country’s COVID-19 response ahead of the general election on Saturday, 7 November 2026.
In an open letter dated 22 October, addressed to sitting MPs and prospective parliamentary candidates, the organisation calls for an independent investigation into COVID-19 ‘vaccine’ safety, greater recognition of people reporting vaccine injuries, and accountability for decisions made during the pandemic.
The letter, signed by Dr Alison Goodwin and Dr Matt Shelton on behalf of NZDSOS, warns that the next Parliament could face significant revelations about the handling of the pandemic and the vaccination programme.
“Political power is a trust not a shield,” the organisation states, arguing that elected representatives have a responsibility to answer difficult questions rather than dismiss those raising concerns.
NZDSOS has encouraged members of the public to download or print the letter and deliver it to their local MPs and election candidates, requesting clear responses before polling day.
The organisation makes three principal demands: an independent examination of evidence concerning vaccine safety and effectiveness, including unexplained deaths and increased sickness since 2021; a credible process for investigating suspected vaccine injuries and deaths; and an end to what it describes as the dismissal and censorship of legitimate public concerns.
The letter also criticises the Royal Commission of Inquiry into COVID-19 Lessons Learned, arguing that its examination of vaccine safety was insufficient.
NZDSOS points to the Commission’s acknowledgement that vaccine safety concerns were underestimated and that people reporting injuries did not feel adequately supported. However, the organisation maintains that important evidence and testimony from senior decision-makers were not fully examined.
It also makes serious allegations concerning vaccine-related deaths, regulatory oversight and the conduct of medical authorities.
To support its calls for further scrutiny, NZDSOS highlights developments overseas, including a September 2026 inquiry convened by Canadian Conservative MP Dean Allison, which heard testimony from witnesses concerning COVID jab injuries and government responses.
NZDSOS also refers to Australian parliamentary efforts to obtain documents relating to pregnancy outcomes and COVID-19 vaccination, alongside demands from an American coalition of physicians, scientists and public figures for major changes to vaccine policy and pharmaceutical regulation.
The group additionally cites civil proceedings in the Netherlands involving prominent figures associated with the pandemic response, including Pfizer chief Albert Bourla and Microsoft co-founder and self-appointed social issues guru Bill Gates.
NZDSOS say these international developments demonstrate growing demands for scrutiny of pandemic-era policies and the decisions of political and medical authorities.
The organisation argues that New Zealand’s political leaders should not wait for further overseas developments before addressing concerns raised by affected individuals and families.
NZDSOS calls on voters to make COVID-19 accountability an election issue by directly questioning candidates and demanding written commitments to its three proposals.
“With power comes responsibility, and neglecting it invites public response,” the letter states.
