Police have confirmed one person has died following a collision involving an electric bus in Parnell on Wednesday night.
Emergency services remain at the scene this morning, with Tamaki Drive still closed in both directions between The Strand and Ngapipi Road.
The crash, which involved an electric bus and another vehicle, occurred at around 9.20pm. One other person sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
Authorities have cautioned that the area may remain hazardous due to the bus’s electric battery system, and road users are urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes until the scene is cleared.
The Serious Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
They are damn lucky this didnt happen in rush hour with the bus packed with passengers. These EV vehicles are an unacvwptable death trap and risk to life and must be banned.

Having heard of an elec J****r owner with an ongoing vehicle fault for months and months, and the dealer and technicians unable to fix it, he was given it back and told not to park it in his garage or near his house…. insanity??
