Police investigating the reported theft of a vessel from Ahuriri in Napier are seeking the public’s assistance.
Sometime between 7pm and 8pm on Thursday 18 June and, the boat was taken from a commercial location on West Quay.
The vessel is a 2023 silver Stabicraft named “Mighty Pelican” and was on a silver boat trailer with the registration 653M8.
A white Nissan Navara double cab ute was seen entering the premises at around 7:50pm on the Thursday evening, and we’re keen to hear from anybody who has information, or footage regarding this vehicle, or its movements on the night.
“Additionally, we’re appealing to anyone who has seen the vessel and trailer since it was reported stolen, as well as the white Nissan Navara ute”, said police in a statement.
“If you have any information that could assist Police, please contact us via 105 either over the phone or online at 105.police.govt.nz.
“Reference the file number 260619/4893.”

How many white navara’s are there surely a redgo search would narrow its location down
…probably being used as a drug vessel in the…’lesser islands’… to our north-east.

Now on the bottom due to thieves who have no clue on how to handle such a vessel in recent bad weather.
The owner should have a serial # placarded (although these can be ground-off…) or at least a unique, hidden identifier etched somewhere on the boat…!

maybe install a tracking bug.

And when the public gives the Police info relating to their requests, nothing happens, or the cops fabricate info on someone they don’t like or is not in the Masonic Lodge..!
Then, innocent men & women go to jail for decades!!!!
