Lincoln crime news

Police are appealing to the public for information following a two-vehicle crash in Lincoln this week.

The crash occurred just before 9.40pm on Wednesday 19 August at the intersection of Shands Road and Springston Rolleston Road. One of the vehicles involved in the crash reportedly left the scene immediately without speaking with the occupant of the second vehicle.

“The vehicle, which left the scene, is reported to be a 2021 silver/grey Nissan Navara – similar to the one pictured. Police enquiries suggest that the Nissan was traveling on Springston Rolleston Road prior to the crash”, said Senior Constable Glen Tweedie.

“Police would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the crash or saw the Nissan travelling on Springston Rolleston Road or the surrounding area between 9.10pm and 10.10pm on Wednesday 19 August. We would also like to review any dashcam footage you may have of the vehicle.

“Police also want to speak with the driver of the Nissan – if this was you, or you have any information that could help us identify them, please get in touch immediately.

“The Nissan is believed to have damage to the front-end of it – likely near the left-hand side.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police online at 105.police.govt.nz, clicking “Update Report”, or by calling 105, quoting file number 260821/9719.

Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
