A police officer involved in the arrest of 18-year-old Henry Nowak has resigned, while three other officers connected to the incident remain on active duty as witnesses in an ongoing investigation.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary confirmed one officer had left the force, while the remaining three officers are not currently subject to restrictions. The case has come under intense scrutiny following the release of body-worn camera footage showing officers questioning Nowak’s claims that he had been stabbed.
Nowak, a finance student at the University of Southampton, was fatally wounded with a 21cm knife while returning home from a night out on December 3 last year. He died just over an hour later.
Footage released publicly showed Nowak repeatedly telling officers, “I have been stabbed,” after they arrived at the scene. One officer responded: “I don’t think you have, mate.” The teenager was subsequently handcuffed, informed he was under arrest and read his rights.
The officers had been responding to claims made by 23-year-old Vickrum Digwa, who falsely told police he had been the victim of a racist attack. Digwa was this week sentenced to life imprisonment after being convicted of Nowak’s murder.
The conduct of the officers is now being examined by the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
Last week, Temporary Deputy Chief Constable Robert France apologised for the handling of the incident, acknowledging that officers had failed to recognise the seriousness of Nowak’s injuries.
“It is a tragedy that officers did not immediately understand what had happened to Henry,” France said. “I am sorry that he had been handcuffed and arrested as he lost consciousness.”
France also said a pathologist’s assessment found there was nothing officers could have done to prevent Nowak’s death.
The case was also raised in the UK Parliament, where Reform UK MP Robert Jenrick argued that the officers involved should face prosecution, describing their actions as a “total dereliction of duty”.
Meanwhile, UK Justice Secretary Shabana Mahmood warned against misinformation circulating online, revealing that an unrelated police officer had been wrongly identified in connection with the case and subjected to death threats.
“Threats against police officers are utterly unacceptable,” Mahmood told MPs. She said the officer had been forced to relocate to protect himself and his family, adding that the public should allow official investigations to establish the facts “calmly and responsibly”.

I’m genuinely surprised there hasn’t been a revolution or civil war in the UK. The abject betrayal of the people by their government and its organisations, is beyond utter able words.

Even if Henry had said the most offensively racist slur ever invented, even if he’d walked down that street reading passages from Mein Kampf, it still would NOT give some offended 3rd party license to murder him, contrary to what all of our “new westerners” believe.
It’s not just that the UK’s government is failing its own people, it’s that it is literally an existential threat to their safety and progeny. The Brits in my opinion at this point have an actual legitimate duty to their children to burn down Westminster and all those royal castles and start building gallows. What else is there to lose that you haven’t lost already?

We forgot that we created all the technological wonders of the modern world. We forgot that only a generation ago we were the baddest motherf*ckers on the planet and no one else DARED to try their luck with us.
