The Government’s proposed under-16 social media ban could allow the High Court to block access to platforms if the companies fail to comply.
Section 38 of the Bill provides for “access restriction orders”, requiring internet service providers to prevent users from accessing non-compliant platforms.
Newstalk ZB political reporter Ethan Griffiths said companies such as Meta could also face penalties of up to 10% of their annual revenue.

I hate social media but to go this far is so see through that the agenda is digital ID. There is nothing in the bill that stands out as being personal, completely copied from from the globalist textbook.
This has nothing to do with protecting kids. This is just a backdoor way of forcing through what will ultimately be a mandatory Digital ID for all. If under 16s have to prove their age, then of course everyone else will basically have to prove they are over 16. This is all just part of the globalist agenda. Once they have the mandatory ID it will then be the programable digital currency and then we will lose the small amount of freedom they currently allow us to still believe we have.
Government are fed up with truthful comments, videos showing politicians doing something like going back on their word, misleading or worse. Having the posters details on hand for the police to switch off, delete and prosecute isn’t. A censorship with very nasty outcomes. Barry Young for example.
An NZ$35 Billion fine for a one-liner sentence or photo on Facebook seems unworkable for Meta, Facebook shareholders. I wouldn’t continue to operate a service in NZ with that axe hanging over my investment.

IF the Transactional Tax is raised to 2%, that pays-off New Zealand’s debts, begins emergency funding to rebuild the Marsden Point Refinery for NZ to have energy independence, overhaul the infrastructure in the country, and the surplus could very well FORGIVE STUDENT DEBT and provide for a University education that could be free!

I’ve made several correct decisions in life including avoiding toxic injections masquerading as allegedly essential vaccines. I’ve simply applied science without any social media.
I’m 62 years old and never had a facebook profile nor anything on instagram nor tiktok or similar. While I have a Linkedin profile and other online profiles specific to what I do, I don’t think I fully understand what social media actually is, and I can easily do without it, whatever it is.
So,….. I’m happy with any moves to ban social media in NZ. Life was better without it a few short decades ago.
