West Midlands police have arrested a 15-year-old Reform UK activist at his home over Facebook posts
The boy allegedly mocked Conservative councillor Simon Bennett’s dress and conduct at council meetings, including a comparison to a “rent boy” and posted a Photoshopped photo of him with rabbit ears.
Police seized the boy’s phone and laptop, questioned him over harassment, malicious communications and a possible hate crime, then bailed him and barred him from council meetings.
The Free Speech Union said it intends to sue for wrongful arrest and false imprisonment, arguing that no offence was committed.
