Tom Phillips operation closed – police

Police can confirm Operation Cranmere, the investigation to identify anyone who may have supported Tom Phillips, has concluded.

It has not resulted in any charges.

Detective Superintendent Ross McKay says under the Solicitor General’s Prosecution Guidelines, any prosecution is required to meet an evidential sufficiency test.

“In this case, based on current admissible evidence, that test has not been met and Police will not be filing any charges.

“We have always said that we believe Phillips was assisted by a small group of people at varying stages.

“Charges may be possible at a later date, if or when further information comes to light.”

The Phillips family were notified of the outcome this week.

Police continue to support the government inquiry into the disappearance of the Phillips children.

It would not be appropriate to comment further while that process continues.

  1. The people of New Zealand will never accept this because Internal enquiries by government on government never achieve justice.

This manhunt and murder of a man who’s primary goal was to protect his children from their druggy birth mother.

It is long past due to fix the bias family court. I am quite sure the now grown children and dads want change.

  2. Police can use whatever “threshold” justification they want, but public perception and narrative is important, and persecuting Tom’s family for helping him looks vindictive.

  3. The bias of the family court is part of the machinations of the system that destroys families to enact ‘socialism’, i.e. govt control.

  4. Tom was a monster- do not think for a second that he was a victim or a good guy.
Some kids are born to people who have no business being parents.
A drugged up mum and a dad who did the unspeakable things that might even result in this comment getting filtered out.
The kids are the only victims in this dreadful saga. Let down by everyone and every agency

    • Overlooking the evidence does make it go away. The fact remains Tom Phillips partner is a hard core drug user. The family court awarded the children to her.

To keep his children safe, Tom took matters into his own hands

The police decided to corner Tom and opened fire on him and place the children in harms way.

One policeman got shot in the head whenTom tried to defend himself in the premeditated lethal ambush. The police must take responsibility for this plan. The family court judge must take responsibility for placing the children with their mother. The blood of the policeman and Tom Phillips is on the police. The well-being of the children is on the family court judge. I want to know who that judge is. He or she must be made public.

Is that going to happen? Of course not. Why not? These people hide in the shadows. They hide from responsibility., they hide from accountability. The hide from justice. All the traits of corporate corruption.

  5. The family court as long past due for an overall. As it stands men have woken up to the financial risk and fraud.

This is an extreme case whereas a drug using woman was allowed to raise children. The father took matters into his own hands.

This case is closed because the police do not want the public to know about their behaviour. Cornering and opening fire on a father with children, what could go wrong there?

  6. It seems cover ups are stealthily healthy, even with a brand new Police Commissioner, who vowed to be transparent with any & all investigations. To say the case is closed, is hiding any evidence they really found… referring to the immediate cone of silence directed by the courts, after immediate findings by the police, at the time Phillips was shot. The children definitely need protecting… no doubt re-education for them all, will be a difficult path & I hope the children can fall back in line with our education system, without too much pressure on their mental health, the oldest daughter in particular…
