Police are continuing to appeal for a woman to come forward to assist an investigation into a man sustaining injuries in Grey Lynn earlier this month.
The man collapsed on Williamson Avenue, near the intersection with Grosvenor Street, at around 8.45am on 4 May. He remains in a critical condition in Auckland City Hospital.
Our investigation has progressed since an appeal was released last week, including the recovery of the bike the victim had been riding on around the Grey Lynn shops.
Police believe the victim has come off his bike around the bottom of Tuarangi Road, at approximately 8.15am that morning
‘A woman sought in our appeal last week was seen to have stopped to assist the man. It is possible she has given the victim a lift up the road, or walked with him, before he carried on, on his own,’ said Detective Senior Sergeant Geoff Baber, Area Investigations Manager, Auckland City West.
‘She is described as having long light-coloured hair and wearing glasses. She was also wearing a blue dress and white shoes.
‘While there is currently nothing to indicate any foul play has taken place, we still need to speak with the woman who stopped to speak with the man.
‘Police have been making enquiries around the Tuarangi Road area, but we also urge the woman to make contact with us.
‘I would like to acknowledge those who have contacted Police or shared our appeal to help progress our enquiries so far.
‘Anyone with information to assist Police can contact us via our 105 phone service quoting the file number 230504/0360.’
