Woman admits horrific abuse of teen including beatings, torture, and humiliation

Selica Wright news

Selica Wright, 33, has pleaded guilty to nine charges, including grievous bodily harm and child ill-treatment, after subjecting a teenage boy to brutal and degrading abuse.

Court documents reveal she repeatedly beat him with various objects, including a hammer, sword, and vacuum cleaner pole, causing severe physical injuries like broken bones and burns.

Her violent outbursts were triggered by trivial matters, and included:

  • Beating with a hammer on his head, body, arms, and legs, causing deep bruises and breaking one of his fingers.
  • Striking with the flat edge of a sword** on the teenager’s head.
  • Beating with a vacuum cleaner pole until it was bent and unusable.
  • Stabbing with a screwdriver to the back of the teenager’s head, leaving a wound that bled for days.
  • Sealing the head wound with construction adhesive and later trying to clean it with petrol, then spraying bleach on the wound.
  • Pushing the teenager into a wall and beating him with a piece of wood, leaving him with a broken vertebra and a split earlobe.
  • Throwing boiling water on the boy, causing burns and blistering, followed by spraying bleach on the burns.
  • Stabbing with a kitchen knife multiple times, including a wound that pierced his chest cavity.
  • Forcing him to eat dog faeces and toilet paper smeared with her excrement.
  • Stomping on his face, stomach, and legs while he was vomiting.
  • Pushing the claw end of a hammer into his mouth, breaking a tooth.
  • Refusing medical help despite his extensive injuries, including burns, broken bones, and a scalp abscess.

The teenager eventually escaped to a neighbour, who called the police.

Wright will be sentenced in December.

  1. A Life Sentence is in order…
If this happened in the State of Florida or in another country, this would be an automatic non-appeal death sentence!
Was this a CYFS / Oranga Tamariki placement with a ‘foster parent’???
Irregardless, the teen should receive ACC and compensation for the rest of his life!!!

  2. 10 plus years in prison without parole should be the minimum along with ongoing psychological treatment. Should be forced to pay compensation to the victim for the rest of her life.

  3. Toxic femininity.

ALL women need to step up and renounce this kind of behaviour. You need to all DO BETTER!

    (That’s how this works, right?)
