A 23-year-old woman has been arrested and charged following a fatal incident on Nuffield Avenue, Marewa, on 27 December 2024, where 33-year-old Reif Cotter died after falling from the roof of a moving station wagon while riding on a mattress.
Police arrested the woman in Hastings on Monday afternoon, and she is set to appear in the Napier District Court on 20 February, facing charges of excess breath alcohol and reckless driving causing death.
Detective Sergeant Stacey Bailey-Tran confirmed that police are not seeking any other individuals in connection with the case.
