It’s an interesting thought, do gardening and loose weight; it can happen.
There are a number of reasons why we consume more food than what our bodies really need.
When your food intake is greater than what the body needs, and you don’t use the residual in work, play and exercise then the excess is stored. Thus we put on weight.
Does gardening have the solution to some or all these problems?
Absolutely, it does help and in some cases, a very great help.
We are all subjected to a certain amount of stress, anxiety, worries and times of boredom.
The most common way to obtain temporary relief is to eat or maybe drink alcoholic beverages.
If you were to instead garden, you would likely find, as many have, that the act of having an influence on nature by pottering around the garden relives stress, anxiety etc.
Gardening allows one to contemplate nature and changes ones thought patterns to a different awareness.
Exercise, we well know, looses weight as we burn off energy in physical exertion.
Take the body builder that eats tremendous amounts of food to have the energy to lift the weights they use during workouts. If we ate that much without the work outs we would blow up like a balloon.
Gardening offers a general amount of exercise, mowing lawns, digging, hoe and raking plus walking. We are out in the fresh air and doing things.
We are using our minds in a different way and we achieve self esteem.
So gardening can aid in the control of your weight from these factors alone.
Not a great control but a better feeling of well-being.
One of the reasons for over weight is eating foods that don’t have the nutritional requirements our body needs and this is one of the main reasons that we eat more food than what we should.
We get ‘hunger pains’ and we eat, more often than not, things that lack good nutrition but put on weight.
Your body requires a range of real goodness, carbohydrates, protein etc plus the most important vitamins and minerals to function correctly.
If your diet does not provide all the requirements that your body needs, the body cries out for these requirements and we recognise this cry as feeling peckish or hungry.
If we were very much in tune to our bodies needs, we would be able to discern what elements are missing, or are in insufficient amounts, and eat the particular thing that the body needs.
Take the example of pregnant women, they have cravings for certain foods (strange as they maybe) but being much more in tune with their body as a result of their pregnancy, they are able to consciously recognise specific requirements/cravings and satisfy the need.
We may not be able to discern the specific needs of our bodies so we eat anything appealing to satisfy the cravings.
If we are more attuned to the bodies needs we will have a craving for a particular food.
There are many elements that are vital for our bodies and well being that are either not in our purchased food chain or, if in our food, in lessor amounts to our needs.
For instance sulphur is one of these components that is not in our food chain in levels that we need.
By growing some of our own vegetables and incorporating all the possible minerals into the growing medium we are going to obtain the best possible health and mental well being.
Plants always take up what is in their root zone which is one of the dangers of growing vegetables by the side of an older home as the lead paint used in the past will be in the soil and taken up by the plants to the adverse affect on your health.
I remember a story I heard years ago where a field in the past had been used as a rifle shooting range.
The field was owned by a farmer and when it ceased to be used by the local gun club the farmer decided to grow a crop of turnips in the field.
When the turnips were matured he put his stock in to feed on them. The cattle died of lead poisoning.
So much shot gun lead pellets were in the soil that the turnips took up the lead and being a root crop stored the lead in the turnip.
There are two ways to obtain the minerals and elements that we need for good health one is supplements of various vitamins and minerals.
The other is from our food chain which is the natural way for our bodies to absorb and utilise.
All this is a proven fact and because we are eating foods that contain elements in an organic/natural form, our bodies are completely adsorbing the elements rather than passing much of them through as waste when taken as pills.
It is easy to add every known mineral and element to the food you grow.
Either apply the following over the area you are going to grow vegetables in or better still mix all the following together into a bucket and then apply a small amount of the mix into each planting hole of the seedling.
The list is…Real Blood & Bone, Ocean Solids, BioPhos, Wallys Calcium & Health and Unlocking Your Soil.
Your plants with love that food and each week you can spray them with Magic Botanic Liquid. (MBL)
Using all the products above is in a sense ‘over kill’ but it does give peace of mind that your 100% sure your food chain has every mineral and element possible.
The ones is be sure to have is Wallys Calcium & Health as it makes the pH of the soil alkaline which means the vegetable are able to take up the nutrients.
Ocean Solids has up to 114 minerals and elements, everyone known to man.
Real Blood & Bone supplies the vital sulphur and is a natural mineral rich slow release food broken down by your beneficial soil life.
To improve the growth of the plants; we are now in the declining number of hours of daylight, you can add molasses to the MBL or you can spray it separately every day or two and you will mature and harvest your vegetables earlier than without it.
The amount is about a table spoon of molasses in a litre of hot water to mix nicely then use or add 10 mils of MBL to use together.
More people are waking up to the fact that your health begins depends on what you eat.
Mainstream Media shows our heath system is in dire straights so we cant depend on care like we used to have, the Doctors and Nurses do the best they can and give them great gratitude for their efforts and care but its like they are in a war zone making do with what they have and able to do for us.
Your health your responsibility.

What a sad story about the cattle and the turnips. It does show that plants are very much affected by the soil’s composition and the environment in which they are grown.
A par for the cause of arguments against genetically modifying food, mutated foods will inevitably cause mutations in humans and animals and the purveyors of such should be treated as potential killers,
