South Africa powered to a 32–14 win over Italy in Turin despite losing Franco Mostert to a red card in the 12th minute, marking their second straight victory after beating France last week.
Coach Rassie Erasmus was forced to deploy four replacements early, but the Springboks still led 10–3 at halftime through Marco van Staden’s try. Italy closed the gap to one point and briefly held a two-man advantage, yet failed to capitalise before Morne van den Berg, Grant Williams and Ethan Hooker sealed the result for the visitors, with Williams’ try set up brilliantly by Canan Moodie.
Italy missed key kicks and, despite a sharp score from Ange Capuozzo, couldn’t secure what would have been only their second win over South Africa in 19 attempts.
