All Blacks outclass Wales in high-scoring clash

The All Blacks overpowered Wales 26–52 in a free-flowing Test marked by seven New Zealand tries, near-total control of possession, and a flawless kicking display from Damian McKenzie.

Despite a hat-trick from Welsh wing Tom Rogers and a late score from Louis Rees-Zammit, Wales struggled to contain New Zealand’s relentless ball-carrying, led by standout No.8 Wallace Sititi and supported by Anton Lienert-Brown and double-try hero Caleb Clarke.

The All Blacks ran more than double Wales’ metres, controlled 67% of the ball, dominated the lineout through Fabian Holland, and conceded only three penalties.

Two New Zealand tries were ruled out by the TMO, but sustained pressure and Welsh ill-discipline—including two yellow cards—opened the door for further scores from Rieko Ioane, Sevu Reece (two), Ruben Love, and Tamaiti Williams.

The win capped a clinical, high-tempo performance that left Wales defending for long stretches and unable to match New Zealand’s physicality or precision.

  1. Didn’t the referee do well?

Giving in to her assistants, after she asked them for compelling evidence to over turn the try she saw and awarded, then reversing the decision without compelling evidence, was her only major misstep.
