The Brisbane Broncos pulled off a stunning 16-14 comeback win over the Penrith Panthers at Suncorp Stadium, ending Penrith’s four-year NRL dominance and booking their spot in the grand final against Melbourne.
Down 14-0 at halftime, Brisbane rallied with two second-half tries before Reece Walsh produced a brilliant late pass for Deine Mariner to score the match-winner.
Adam Reynolds, returning from injury, nailed the clutch sideline conversion to seal the victory, while Penrith’s Dylan Edwards missed a last-minute two-point field goal attempt.
The heated clash saw tempers flare between Ezra Mam, Nathan Cleary and Liam Martin, while Paul Alamoti’s first-half double wasn’t enough for the Panthers.
