Jalen Brunson scored 40 points, including a clutch three-pointer with 4.3 seconds remaining, to lead the New York Knicks to a 116-113 win over the Detroit Pistons and secure a 4-2 first-round series victory.
The newly crowned Clutch Player of the Year also tallied four rebounds and seven assists, while Mikal Bridges added 25 points and OG Anunoby chipped in 22 at Little Caesars Arena.
The win sends the Knicks to the Eastern Conference semi-finals, where they will face the defending champion Boston Celtics. Brunson credited his teammates for their support, saying, “None of this happens without them.”
