Aston Villa staged a spirited comeback to beat Tottenham 1-2 in a rain-soaked Premier League clash, denying Spurs a chance to move second.
Rodrigo Bentancur opened the scoring early for Tottenham, but Morgan Rogers equalised with a stunning 20-yard strike before substitute Emiliano Buendia sealed victory in the 77th minute with a precise finish into the bottom corner.
The result marked Villa’s fifth straight win in all competitions and lifted them into the top half of the table. Rogers’ resurgence, capped by his first goal of the season, continued his strong form for both club and country, while Unai Emery’s side appear to have turned around their poor start to the campaign.
