The Highlanders have secured a major boost to their long-term ambitions by re-signing explosive outside backs Caleb Tangitau and Jacob Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens through to the end of the 2028 Super Rugby Pacific season.
Both players have impressed in 2025, with Tangitau, 22, delivering a breakout campaign highlighted by six tries before a groin injury cut his season short, while Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens, 23, returned from a neck injury to inject flair and versatility into the backline.
Tangitau praised the opportunity for regular play and the team’s growing potential, while Ratumaitavuki-Kneepkens cited his strong connection to the region and belief in the club’s future as key factors in re-signing.
Head Coach Jamie Joseph welcomed the news, calling them game-changers and core players in the Highlanders’ push for future Super Rugby success.
