Leeds United earn valuable point at Sunderland

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s remarkable scoring run continued as Leeds produced a spirited second-half response to claim a deserved draw away to Sunderland, cancelling out the hosts’ first-half lead and extending their unbeaten streak.

Sunderland struck first through Simon Adingra’s fine curling effort after Leeds failed to clear their lines, but the visitors grew into the game and were unfortunate not to level before the break.

Leeds found their reward shortly after half-time when Calvert-Lewin finished off a superb, patient team move marking his sixth consecutive Premier League match on the scoresheet.

Leeds pushed for a winner late on but were unable to break down a resilient Sunderland side, who held firm to preserve their strong home record as both teams settled for a point.
