The British and Irish Lions pulled off a remarkable 26-29 comeback victory over the Wallabies at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, overcoming an 18-point deficit with a 79th-minute try by Hugo Keenan to seal the three-match series 2-0 with one game to spare.
Trailing 5-23 after Australia’s explosive first-half burst of three tries, the Lions rallied with scores from Tom Curry, Huw Jones, Tadhg Beirne, and ultimately Keenan in front of 90,307 fans.
It marks the Lions’ first early series win since 1997 and their first over Australia since 1966, keeping their 2025 tour unbeaten with only the Sydney dead rubber remaining.
