Lions thrash Force in tour opener

The British and Irish Lions kicked off their Australian tour in style with a commanding 54-7 win over the Western Force, scoring eight tries despite a sloppy and penalty-laden first half.

Though the Force enjoyed strong territory and pressured the Lions early, they failed to convert key opportunities, allowing the tourists to pull away after halftime.

Captain Dan Sheehan, Tomos Williams (who later left injured), Elliot Daly, Garry Ringrose, Joe McCarthy, and Alex Mitchell all crossed the line in a ruthless second-half display. Despite some early defensive lapses and ill-discipline, the Lions showed their class and depth, though Williams’ injury now looms as a concern for coach Andy Farrell.
