Littler secures World No.1 ranking after Grand Slam semi-final win

Luke Littler will become the youngest world number one in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) history after defeating Danny Noppert 16–9 to reach the Grand Slam of Darts final in Wolverhampton.

The 18-year-old world champion’s prize-money total now exceeds that of rival Luke Humphries, meaning he will top the rankings regardless of tonight’s result.

Littler, who rallied from 8–6 down to win 10 of the next 11 legs with a 102.62 average, said achieving world number one within two years on tour was “remarkable,” though he remains focused on the final.

Humphries briefly held onto top spot after beating Gerwyn Price in a high-scoring semi-final, but his defended earnings fell just short of Littler’s total. Former world champion Mark Webster praised Littler’s consistency, calling him a “brilliant talent.”
